Questions About Chronic Disease Management (Concierge)
Chronic Diseases are conditions that last a very long time, and are often incurable. Examples of chronic diseases include heart disease, stroke, cancer, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and arthritis. These conditions often require managing symptoms and preventing further complications.
Excessive alcohol use, poor nutrition, lack of physical activity and tobacco use. At AMG Medical, we will partner with you to identify areas of your day to day life that could be contributing to your chronic disease symptoms and help you identify lifestyle changes that will positively impact your life.
There are a number of non-specific symptoms people commonly deal with including mood changes, pain or discomfort and fatigue. Oftentimes, people will also experience morning stiffness, decrease range of motion and other physical limitations. These symptoms can become a part of your day to day life and it’s important to talk to your AMG Medical practitioners about these symptoms to provide a better quality of life.
Diabetes happens when your body isn’t able to make enough insulin, which controls blood sugar in the body. Nutrition is a major factor in treating diabetes as it helps you understand how food impacts your body and when managed appropriately, will help lower the risk of large fluctuations in blood sugar levels. These fluctuations, particularly high blood sugar can lead to issues including eye damage, nerve damage, heart disease, kidney failure, and issues with blood flow.
Heart disease causes changes in the way that your body burns calories. Often, people with heart disease find it difficult to eat enough calories to meet their body’s need leading to burning muscle and fat for energy. Without good nutrition, heart disease patients may have difficult handling their treatment.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is a group of lung diseases that causes the airways of the lungs to become inflamed and narrowed. One complication that arises from COPD is shortness of breath, which leads to difficulty in preparing and eating meals. Certain foods can also present challenges, and it’s important to know what your best nutritional choices are to manage the symptoms and side effects of your COPD.
Dealing with hypertension requires an integrative approach. Focusing on eating fruits, vegetables, and whole grains as well as limiting the use of salt and fat can help lessen the impact of hypertension. Often, medications used to treat hypertension can have nutritional impacts so knowing what to eat, or avoid while taking certain medications will improve quality of life and your overall health.
Dr. Morris is my mother’s physician. She is nearing 90 years old. I accompany her to her appointments. She says she feels very comfortable with him because he listens to her. He treats her with respect. He stays on top of her medications, adjusting as necessary. When she has any concern, he patiently works to understand it. My mother and I would recommend Dr. Morris to anyone who wants a good and caring doctor.
I am very happy to have Dr. Morris as my primary physician and appreciate that I know when I go, I will get the attention and care I need. He and his staff are courteous and pleasant to work with besides being extremely competent.
Dr. Morris is a wonderful doctor who looks me as a whole person, not just as set of stats and symptoms. He has helped me prioritize my health issues, so I can focus on the most important ones and keeps track of the others until I am ready to address them. When I am with Dr. Morris he is fully engaged and focused on me. These days, I actually look forward to seeing the doctor!
Dr. Morris listened to my list of symptoms and methodically approached diagnosis and treatment. He is very energetic and positive, reassuring me that my issue could be treated and described how we would resolve it. He was open and friendly as he probed for the information that he needed to understand my condition. I trust his analysis, and will continue to see him for my medical needs.
Dr. Morris is an excellent physician. He always listens to me and works with me to develop actions that meet my goals and help me to improve my health. When he has referred me to another physician for specialty care, the physician Dr. Morris recommended has been the best one to treat that medical condition.
Dr. Bachus is an excellent Physician who listens, is thorough and supportive.
He listens when you answer his questions. He listens when you tell him what’s going on. He has a wonderful sense of humor and an outgoing personality. He makes you feel important to him.
Dr. Morris made me feel like I was the most important person in the world for him at the time of my visit. He listened and answered all my questions and has a great sense of humor that I have not experienced in the medical field before. His persona is that he is a very kind, loving man who is also a great Dr.
I began seeing Dr. Morris and his wife Dr. Amanda Bacchus-Morris at Marana Health Care 3 years ago. I can not emphasize enough how incredibly wonderful these 2 doctors are. They have empathy for and are so supportive of their patients and their well-being. I am a chronic pain patient and Dr Bacchus and Dr.Morris, literally gave me my life back because they believed I was truly suffering. If you need a doctor, Dr. Morris is your man.
Dr. Morris is an exceptional doctor. He takes his time and listens and I always feel that I receive excellent care.
We would recommend Dr. Gerald Morris most highly! He really listens to what you are saying. He answers our questions completely. He has a great personality & “bedside manner.” Both my husband and I couldn’t be happier with this doctor.
Dr. Morris listens to his patients, and then immediately responds to any concerns the patient may have. I have never had a more responsive physician than Dr. Morris.
Dr. Morris is the best doctor we’ve ever had. He is personable, extremely knowledgeable & patient-oriented! He’s the only doctor we’ve had where we look forward to our next visit! He’s incredible!!
We have always felt you give us enough time to answer all our questions. We’ve been happy with the nurses, assistants, and staff. We are glad Dr. Fagan recommended you when he retired.
Have been a patient for 5 years now. My husband and I feel Dr Morris is exceptional in his care and concern for our health. He’s a keeper!!
Dr. Morris was a real find here in Tucson. With so many doctors it’s hard to find one as compassionate, patient and sense of humor. Always on time and never rushes you. So if you’re looking for a good doctor, give Dr. Morris a try.
Dr. Morris is a terrific doctor, he is responsive, caring and available when there is a problem. He is attentive to your concerns and takes as much time as needed during an appointment, I have never felt rushed and he listens. I highly recommend Dr. Morris, he is the best.
The Staff was very friendly and attentive, helping me get everything setup and ready to go before my appointment and when the day of came. As for the Doctor, he actually took the time to listen to my concerns and set out to actually do something about it too! My previous physician would all-but waive off my concerns. When I mentioned having Chronic Back Pains he asked about some of my previous medical history to try and narrow down a possible cause. He also actually sent me to get my back x-ray-ed just to make sure of what the probable causes were and to make sure there was nothing else. Just for this visit (which was my first visit too!) I would greatly recommend AMG Medical for the staff and the physicians there too.
Super pleased with Dr. Gerald Morris, he pays attention and addresses problems. He’s funny and lighthearted as well, which makes it nice to interact with him. The staff there is good too, they really do their best to take care of you. Highly recommend their practice!
I am so grateful I met Dr. Bacchus Morris six years ago and Dr. Morris shortly after that. They have grown up so much and done so well. This is the best medical practice I’ve ever been to. They are the most caring and they listen to you. I send everyone here because I know you will get the care you deserve. Thanks everyone at AMG for taking great care of me.
Very good service Dr Bacchus Morris is very professional. She will make you feel very comfortable. She is easy to talk to about anything. She doesnt rush you through things and listens to what you tell her. And she does what ever it takes to make you better!
She is very caring and truly does listen. I do not like medications; I prefer natural remedies. She is willing to work with me in that regard. That is much appreciated.
Dr. Bacchus-Morris really listens and she is very efficient in her response to any troubling information. She is easy to talk to and I think she is really smart, and she has a real heart for treating patients.
Always an excellent experience. All of the staff is courteous, knowledgeable and caring! Thank you so much!!
Whenever anyone is looking for a new PCP (Internist), I ALWAYS highly recommend Dr. Bacchus-Morris. It is evident that she always reviews our cases before my husband’s and my appointments. She understands his complicated medical history and has made wonderful recommendations to necessary specialists. Prescription renewals are a piece of cake and office staff is awesome. We feel like real people seeing a real doctor and never feel rushed or disregarded.
Dr. B was professional, capable, and kind. I would highly recommend her and plan on returning to her myself! Her intelligence and compassion are great combination for a positive medical experience.
I first met Dr. Bacchus in 2014 and was amazed with her demeanor, wisdom, and professional ability. She later had to leave the office she was working at and it took me about 2 years to find where she is now working. I took the time to find her again because she is my type of doctor. Friendly, very professional, and very straight forward. I am 74 years old, spent 20 years in the military so I have seen a lot of Dr.’s. She is, for me, the number one PCP the Tucson, Az. area.
